THIS WEEK IN BUSINESS

Student Temporary Employment Program: The deadline for getting a subsidy to hire students is fast approaching.

The STEP program provides a subsidy of $7.00 per hour to a maximum of 37.5 hours a week, with a commitment of between 4-16 weeks. Applications are now open and will close on Feb 9, 2018. More at http://www.albertacanada.com/…/summer-temporary-employment-…

Business – to – Business Discounts: We are relaunching our B2B discount program in the spring of this year. The premise is simple: The Chamber has hundreds of Members who had thousands of employees and we want to encourage more of them to shop with Members of the Chamber.

We are asking your business to provide a discount, deal or other incentive for the program. For example, someone purchasing a popular full price item might get 15% off the price, the idea being that they will buy more than one item. Restaurants might offer a free upsize on a side or drink. Hotel chains could offer a discount code so that when folks need to travel for work or kids hockey, they will stay with your chain of hotels or restaurants.

We ask that you reach out to us no ny the end of the month at membership@brookschamber.ab.ca, or call the office 403 362 7641.
